Successful You Business Awards
Founded in 2003, this annual British Columbia-wide Small Business BC Successful You Business Awards is free to enter and open to all new and existing small businesses.
The purpose for this Awards event is to support and recognize B.C. entrepreneurs in their endeavours to start and grow successful small businesses. Over 1,200 entrepreneurs have entered their business plans in areas as diverse as retail trade, manufacturing, technology services, arts, entertainment and recreation.
We feel that a strong small business sector supports vital economic and social growth, with tangible benefits to all members of a community.
True to business principals, our contest continues to grow and evolve. In addition to the Business Concept and Business Growth award categories, we have incorporated the following two new awards:
* Company of the Year Award: an award will be presented to the nominee who has demonstrated an outstanding, growing business; innovative product(s), increasing jobs, increasing sales, overcoming adversity, and community contributions.
* Small Business Champion of the Year Award: an award will be presented to the nominee who has demonstrated a commitment to promoting small business in B.C., including volunteering time and services to small business interests and groups, advocating the cause of small business in the legislative process. Champions may or may not be small business owners.
We will continue to have the Business Pitch Presentations where the top finalists in the Business Concept and Growth award category will have an opportunity to present their business plan “pitches” to judges. Following which, the judges will have an opportunity to pose questions to finalists.

- Submissions Deadline: 12noon, March 31, 2010
- Awards Ceremony: June, 2010
The Contest is hosted by Small Business BC.
