Award Criteria

  • You are committed to continuous improvements to employee health and safety in your workplace and  industry and encourage and reward employees’ initiatives in this area.
  • Balance revenue generation and other profitability performance indicators while providing leadership as a responsible employer in the community/industry.
  • Commitment to workforce development; employee training, employee safety/wellness initiatives, education/professional development opportunities, good citizenship, and community volunteer activities.
  • Demonstrate solid employee recruitment and retention strategies and a commitment to keeping employees employed and engage in good business practices to ensure stability and longevity.
  • You lead by example in developing, following and supervising all work to ensure that it is done safely in your workplace.

Eligibility

  • Registered with WorkSafeBC and in good standing.
  • Currently operating an existing business in B.C.
  • You employ more than 2 but less than 50 employees.
  • Shortlisted (Top 10 most voted) nominees will be required to submit additional information supporting the extended award criteria.
